Thank you for taking the time to visit our page! My name is Meghnn and I am a mother to an Angel Baby, Aleena Kay Patton. Aleena was born on 09/14/14 at 3:22 am and passed away shortly after at about 5 am from a rare but fatal disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta Type II. I have created this page for many reasons. The first reason being to tell our story! I want to keep my baby girl’s memory alive. Another reason is to help bring awareness to this rare disease and to hopefully reach other families going through a hard time with this disease so that they have someone that they can turn to for advice, questions or just to talk! But, this page is not only for parents who are losing or have lost their baby to OI Type II! This page is for ANY parent going through a similar situation or has already gone through it and also for anyone who just wants to better understand all of these DEVASTATING situations, so that maybe they can reach out and help a loved one, friend or a stranger who is going through a loss of a loved one or child! I really hope that it can be of help to someone, even if it is just ONE person! So please, follow and share with your friends! I can’t reach any of my goals alone!

Thank you!

Hello! I just came through your page and read your story! Last week I lost my baby girl Dua due to osteogenesis imperfecta. We came to know about her condition during my 20 week morphology scan and me and my husband decided to keep her till term rather than aborting her. We only had 37 mins with her but those were the most cherished momets of our lives.
She had peaceful 37 mins and I am happy that I get to hold for few mins! The pain is still there but atleast I saw her and hold her!

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to “walk a mile in your shoes.” While I have never experienced anything like what you must be going through, know that my heart goes out to you and your family.

    • Thank you so much! It has been very hard, but I believe that everything happens for a reason and even though that doesn’t help with the pain, I know that she is in a better place!
